Wishful Dreading
by Ameanie and Teng
I cup a steaming mug, With holiday snowmen smiling. The tea gives me a warm hug, As white tears fall from angels crying.
The fireworks outside sing, Of the calendars flipping. And it hits me with a ping, That my remaining time is skipping.
Red robes flap in the wind, With dancing children laughing, My heart brightens with those lights, As my mind joins the doves flying.
But that red, that red! Reminds me of the blood that's dripping, And fills me with dread, That she will come ripping!
Although as horrid as fate is, I know we'll pull through this hazing. For hope will grant us a kiss, Which will bring a brighter ending.
But as hopeful as I might be, The slumber will always be transcending. And my sins are to such degree, That there's no way from mending.
