Swept away
by Ameanie
A ringing sound fills your ears, surprising you You groan and hit 'Decline'
But a second later it pops up again You try to ignore it
The purple box seems to silently mock you At last you give up
As soon as you enter the meeting unmuted You sigh and shout 'WHAT?'
Your friends stop midlaugh and say to you 'oh hey, you're finally here!'
You snap back at them, clearly very annoyed 'I was working on HOMEWORK'
With a groan you return to your work But constant chatter distracts you
As time drags on the pull becomes irresistible But you remind yourself 'FOCUS!'
At last you return to the meeting screen And think 'just this time'
'just this time, homework can wait for now' Swept away in the call
You chat the afternoon away with your friends And you suddenly realize that
It was nice to let go of your worries To just sit back and relax And be carefree If only for a while
