Iridescent
by Ameanie
A drowsy hint of lotus leaves Wakes the dragonflies from their sleep As dawn breaks over the sea The butterflies alight from their trees
A gentle breeze ushers the cold And carries them so far from home Thousand wings beat to produce one note That sings of valleys unknown
A shiver of fear creeps up the spine For shadows that lurk within the nights But though the dangers may blind their sight They still venture on and re-alight
Those beautiful iridescent butterflies.
