Corner Store

by Ameanie

I flutter down the steps Of the grandiose hall, Laughing to what someone said.

An instant chill creeps inside The fuzzy length of my legwarmers, While I pull my jacket tight.

Around that corner and down the bend, Where we turn in unison, Spying the gleaming store ahead.

A waft of wind blows, Sending delicious smells spiraling From the neighboring hot pot smoke.

Our chatters hush quietly, As we open the door to step into The wafting aromas from sweet boba tea.
